Our God’s Zoo is Big…

2019

How long can you fool a community (in this case, the spectators) without realizing: in this performance nothing is what it seems to be!? How do they behave when performers involve them in the game inspired by clown jokes, are put them into an embarassing situation? Can they step beyond the comfort of “the viewer watching the performer” role and intuitively become part of the dramaturgy of the performance? The opportunity is given as the structure of the scenes provides a secure framework to this, so they can safely take the task – and also the role – who dare to view this milieu as a playground and connect with other audience members and the performers.

It is neither a performance nor a theater but somewhere between the two, a nonverbal, or pre-verbal, movement based performance, in which familiar figures appear from our everyday lives, wearing various animal masks. However, the story does not become a fable, the goal of the two creators (Ádám Bot and Fanni Lakos) is more to find a way ‒ with theatre tools, sound / noise effects on our mental state and the participation of the spectators ‒ to rethink our future in the present.
