EMPOWERMENTAL

YOU ARE WHAT YOU DO EVERY DAY

2020 -

#mentalhealth #physicalwellbeing #stressrelease #communitybuilding #balance

How do you deal with tension or frustration? What do you do when you have problems eating or falling asleep due to stress? If you cannot concentrate or you cannot pay attention to others? How do you support your mental balance? What are the tools in your hand?

EMPOWERmental aims to develop mental well-being by integrating tools from art-based methods, discover and learn creative practices from the fields of movement, theatre and yoga. These tools are bringing powerful new routines and rituals and can be easily integrated into your daily life. On a longer term, their regular practice may have impelling positive effects on one’s mental and physical health. Our aim is to provide our participants with efficient tools helping to reduce stress and anxiety, increase concentration and balance our relation to ourselves as well as to our environment.

The project is based on the research of a Tandem Europe program entitled Co-Warming (2019-20) in partnership with Elena Guinta and Larius (IT), as well as on our own company experience working not only with professional performers and cultural managers, but also with youth and adults in different local and international collaborations.

From the beginning of 2020, the development of the project in Hungary continued under the name EMPOWERmental. With the help of Drama in Education expert and facilitator Fanny Hajdú, we adapted the workshop for the 16-18 year old age group, focusing on tools supporting mental and physical balance in the midst of pandemic anxiety and the challenges of remote education. EMPOWERmental has been selected among the winning projects of Good Impact Sustainability Fair 2021 and we had the opportunity to collaborate with British Petrol. We held workshops in the frame of several international collaborations or events, such as Istanbul Fringe Festival or the Anti-Bullying Movement Series project supported by Erasmus+. Currently we are working on an intensive youth exchange supported by Visegrad Fund that will take place in April 2023 in the Czech Republic. We regularly organise open workshops indoors and outdoors as well.

Our goal is to bring these tools to as many non-profit and for-profit teams as possible in the future and to further develop it through various collaborations in order to fit the needs and expectations of both employers and employees.
